The Global Student Council (GSC) at The University of Virginia (UVA) aims to forge relationships and create a common platform for all the current international students, in order to identify and resolve the main issues that impact the international community and strengthen their relationship with the University, as well as to facilitate current international student relationships and support the University in building a strong international alumni network.
Our operation is split into two bureaus: Internal Affairs and External Affairs.
Internal Affairs delivers the University’s resources to current international students. We provide a forum for these students to bring forth their issues and collectively resolve these through implementation of targeted programs. The overall mission is forge better relationships between international student groups and the University.
External Affairs collaborates with the University’s Alumni Association, Office of Engagement, and other administrative offices to formalize and strengthen our existing international alumni network. In other words, we want to promote the University on a global level.
The GSC is open for everyone to join, regardless of country of origin. Join and become a global citizen now!
